A logo design created by a youngster in Yorkshire will be used across Xscape’s social media profiles for the rest of 2021!
Hina, aged 12, entered our #CreateYourXscape logo design competition and was picked as one of two finalists before the public voted Hina’s design the winner.
The competition encouraged entrants to put pen, paint or collage to paper and celebrate what they are most looking forward to once restrictions are lifted.
Xscape General Manager Jason Warren said: “All of the designs were fantastic with a great eye for detail and artistic flair. The thing that stood out for me is how individual they were and that and each one was reflection of what Xscape means to them, which ultimately is what Xscape is all about.”
Of the winning design, artist and judge Nicolas Dixon said: “Hina’s use of beads around the edge of the logo is very clever and works great. Loving not only the content of Xscape but also the centre’s surroundings with a drawing of Ferrybridge.”
The social media votes between the two finalists were neck and neck but Joseph’s design just missed out on the winning spot.
Of the runner up design, artist and judge Hanagh Little said: “I love how Joseph has incorporated everything in Xscape and made it into a happy image. The people in the middle all holding hands whilst each doing an activity is so fun and a great way to show unity and everything they are looking forward to doing once able to.”
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to get involved. We’ve been blown away by the creativity and originality. And, thanks go to our local artists for helping with the judging – Hanagh Little, Rachel List and Nicolas Dixon.
